Must Clean

Well seeing as today is my normal cleaning day, I decided to take things a step above and do some super cleaning. I’ve heard plenty of stories of how strict the army can be with how clean your apartment has to be when you leave it, so I figured it would be best to get a jump instead of waiting till the last second.

Of course the place still isn’t perfect, but it at least looks a lot better than it did previously. And I hopefully won’t have to spend an entire day cleaning when the time comes.

I also completed the last grocery shopping trip for while we are living in Germany. Since we don’t know the exact date we’ll be out of the apartment I did a have shopping trip and bought dinners for a week and a half, some breakfast and that was pretty much it. We still have plenty of sandwich stuff for lunch which lead to me just buying some more bread. I figured that would be better than buying more food and just having to give it away cause we had too much.

Today also got pretty warm or at least to me it felt like it got pretty warm. I do miss the warm weather, but I don’t want it to get too warm while we’re still here in Germany because at least in the Wiesbaden area it’s very humid and that just makes the heat worse.

Not much else to say, so I guess that’s it for today. Talk to you next time!

Sunny Days

It has finally been warming up and today was actually one of the first real days of sunshine. Of course it had to rain the previous days and make everything humid, but I guess as long as it doesn’t continue forever it’s okay.

In the army in Wiesbaden there is actually a clean up day where everyone enlisted gets the day off for the purpose of cleaning out the apartment stairwells and making the front look good as well. To be honest most people don’t participate in this, but there were a couple people from the apartment across from ours that were out there and they had their dogs tied up outside, so I decided to bring my dog outside for a little puppy play date.

Of course that ended with one of the people taking their dog in because my dog and there dog wouldn’t stop barking.

We are still waiting on the release papers, but they will literally be coming any day now and that is very exciting and I have even been able to pack up some stuff today like shoes I won’t be wearing and some clothes I won’t be wearing as well.

Even though not much is happening at the moment, things will definitely start to pick up very soon and I am actually very much looking forward to the crazy busy time we will soon find ourselves in.

Packing an Apartment

It may seem kind of ridiculous, but I have started packing up some of our house even though we don’t know the date we will actually be leaving Germany. The thing is though, we know we will be leaving at the tail end of April and my husband will be getting his release form sometime this week and we will then know what day we are leaving.

So I figured it wouldn’t hurt to start packing up the decoration type stuff in our house and just things we won’t be using in the next couple of weeks. I thankfully won’t have to pack the whole place myself as the movers will actually pack anything I have left unpacked as that is how it works when you’re in the army (or in this case leaving the army).

The weather has also been starting to finally get warmer and our dog Umbreon has very thick fur that will easily make her hot which leads to us shaving her in Spring. Seeing as it has been warming up we shaved her this weekend and she honestly looks like a different dog, but she will definitely appreciate it later. It is a bit of an adventure though as she hates getting shaved, but thankfully she just sits there and tolerates it for the most part so as not to make it take any longer than it absolutely has to.

One other thing has happened this weekend: I have found a new addiction. I was finally able to get my hands on Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer for the 3DS and I have been practically playing it nonstop it is that much fun. Decorating the house has always been one of my favorite parts of the Animal Crossing series and in this game you even get to design things like a department store and school which makes it even better for me!

That is all for now and I will see you in the next post!

The Beginning

Writing about my everyday life is something I have always wanted to do and since I am coming up to an exciting point in my life, I figured why not start now?

My husband, dog, and I will be leaving Germany by the end of this month to go back to America where as of right now we are not completely sure where we will be headed. The only reason we live in Germany right now is because my husband is in the army, but he is getting medically retired and we are simply waiting on his final release form which should come next week so that we can start preparing to leave.

Of course we are already getting prepared though to leave as we have boxes, and sharpies. We thankfully also have a passport for our dog since she actually came from Hungary to get to Germany so it will easy to get her into America.

This is a short post, but this is me just getting this whole thing started and I will have longer and better posts later down the road.
